Suzhou shines in Jiangsu's government work report

The 2025 Jiangsu Provincial Government Work Report was released on Jan 19, recognizing Suzhou's achievements while outlining its future development.

The report highlighted Suzhou's accomplishments in 2024, including the approval of China's first regional technology transfer and commercialization center for universities, with Suzhou as one of the key locations. Nine high-tech zones in Suzhou ranked among the top 50 in the national evaluation, four new national advanced manufacturing clusters were approved in the city, and nine national-level economic development zones in the city made the top 30 nationwide.

Suzhou also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) last year, serving as a successful model of cooperation between China and Singapore.

To strengthen Yangtze River Delta (YRD) integration, Suzhou led the establishment of the first 12 innovation alliances in the region. The "1+4" computing power platform within the YRD region made significant progress, and 154 institutional innovation outcomes have been achieved in the integrated development demonstration zone.

The report also emphasized several key initiatives for Suzhou in 2025, such as strengthening the strategic scientific and technological capacity of Suzhou Lab, enhancing the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone (including Suzhou Area), fostering openness and innovation in the biopharmaceutical sector, and supporting SIP in advancing deepened openness and innovation.

Suzhou will continue implementing policies for the high-quality development of YRD region, strengthening connections with the Yangtze River Economic Belt, enhancing the competitiveness of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan circle, and promoting the integration of the Yangtze River city cluster.
